Each webisode of Sanctuary follows the exploits of Dr. Helen Magnus (AMANDA TAPPING, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis) as she seeks out all manner of terrifying and monstrous creatures. She is aided in her quest by her reluctant protégé Will Zimmerman (ROBIN DUNNE, Dawson’s Creek, The Big Hit, Species 3) and her intrepid, if somewhat reckless daughter Ashley (EMILIE ULLERUP, Battlestar Galactica). Together they will be drawn into a frightening and mysterious world populated by beings that defy explanation.
Fusing stunning visual effects, Sanctuary takes the viewer into a thrilling world where science meets the supernatural. This fictional online universe fills the void left by traditional network television by providing multiple High Definition and direct communication between the viewer and the Sanctuary creative team.
We feature world class talent, including creature effects by Emmy Award winner Todd Masters (Six Feet Under, Star Trek - First Contact), executive producers Martin Wood, John Smith, and Damian Kindler (Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis), game executive Marc Aubanel (FIFA Soccer, Need for Speed, Marvel Nemesis), online designer John Kalangis, and computer graphics designer Ron Martin. Sanctuary is the first broadcast quality, High Definition dramatic series designed specifically for the internet.
2. What is unique about Sanctuary?

Sanctuary is the first tapeless HD digital production - using only digital media on hard drives from shooting through to post. As well, the majority of Sanctuary's first eight webisodes (approx. two hours) were shot entirely on green screen sets -- meaning the backgrounds are completely computer generated.
Additionally, we use an innovative 3D computer-model tracking system live on set, allowing actors and crew to "see" renderings of the CG worlds they are "filming" in real time.
Sanctuary recently was awarded a Guinness World Record for "Highest Budget Television Production Direct to the Web".
3. Who created Sanctuary?
Sanctuary was created by Sci-fi writer/producer Damian Kindler (Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis). The first eight webisodes were written by Damian with a much-deserved co-story credit going to fellow Executive Producer and Sanctuary two-hour pilot director Martin Wood (Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, Jerimiah). Also Executive Producing Sanctuary are Amanda Tapping (Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis), Marc Aubanel (Electronic Arts) and N. John Smith (Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis). Computer-generated visual effects and production design are handled by Ron Martin (Marvel Nemesis, Soft Image) and Todd Van Hulzen (The Girl With The Pearl Earring).

Sanctuary is designed to be a multi-format series, that may be available on Television and DVD in the near future. But at the moment Sanctuary is only available online.
7. When was the pilot for Sanctuary shot?
The two-hour pilot for Sanctuary was shot from January 3-30, 2007 at Bridge Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia.
8. Who worked on the production crew?
